My friends and I got invited to a Hungi.

WTF is a Hungi? lol

All we could gather was that its a massive feed/piss up/get together with all the Islanders...am i right? lol

Yep. A hungi is where you cook meat and vegies in a big pit will hot coals or rocks at the bottom. You cover the food over with some leaves or some sacks. It steams and cooks the food. Very delicious. We sometimes have a hungi after a rugby game.

A hangi is the 2nd best thing you could ever eat. (number 1 being the Samoan version, the umu ) All flavours from all the foods mix with each other in everything and.....mmmmmmmmmm! Most of the time it's got pork/lamb/chicken, with all the veg's. And then of course there's always too much alcohol to go round.

btw it's spelt hangi i believe. and i wouldn't call maori's islanders, i know a lot of them don't like being called islanders.
