Is the top 30 as per the nrl site determined by the value of contracts formally finalised? So until june next year the top 30 highest paid players are considered the "top 30" - the next highest paid players with contracts that total no more than 640k are the supplementary players.

We should really be using different terminology - top 30 is irrelevant n misleading - First Grade Squad would be clearer - unless im missing something the supplementaries desision is basically just increasing the size of first grade squads to a max of 38.
Are NRL still using Top 30 terminology tho?

3 months out, not much to take from that interview.
A bit over the history fluff. Heard the same last year and the year before that with Baz. Means nothing when you have players walking on the last.
Atleast he is talking about competition and the best person for the position. ie Xerri having to prove himself.

The ideal whould be for all clubs to list their current contracted players under the heading of the type of contract they have ie NRL, Train n Trial, Supplementary, Flegg, Second Tier.

In Gus we Trust
Gus might be in charge … but there’s a whole club coaching staff and group of people all working towards success 7 days a week …

Open your mind and let some knowledge and observations in ..

One of the most short sighted people I’ve ever come across, and you call yourself a gun

I think he means that if Burton does not perform at 5/8, he will be in the centres which means there will be more competition there.
Personally, I would like to see Tracey at fb regardless.
Fullback is basically the second most important position on the field, surely you prioritise who plays there over what's happening in the centres? Tracey should be fullback regardless of what's going on elsewhere.

That’s correct - max of 38.
Part of the new CBA with the RLPA effective 2024.
Bulldogs currently have 31/7 but the ‘Top 30’ as such need only be confirmed by June 2024 after which no more mid-season transfers. So yes, there will be some adjustment - but the @DebbieDowners saying the club has done anything ‘illegal’ or ‘wrong’ are incorrect.

The SEN interview was far better.

It sounds like Tracey will be centre unless/until Burton proves he can’t handle 5/8 and he is moved there, what happens to Tracey is anyone’s guess after that.

Expecting Salmon to get one of the bench spots as a second rower. Mann to get the 14.
Hutchinson/Sexton to battle for 7.
No idea what is happening with Taffee, he didn’t even mention him lmao

Ok well the plan is clear now with our signings and it actually makes a lot of sense imo. Looks like we’ve learnt from last year with our lack of depth and how stretched and tired our squad became and we’ve recruited well in areas we could with whats on the market.

I love our history but these days it means sweet f$ck all to most players…. Yes I comprehend it’s such a business now but when Dogs players go to Parra and all players chop and change it makes it a shambles…. Money has changed so much… I understand ***** need to look after their families but I hate that there’s no loyalty anymore….in footy and life
