Mason understands this club thrives when everyone hates us. Hopefully they start hating us again for being the dogs of war we once were in the coming years.

He’s right. It’s a bit like Hayne in 2009 carrying Mortimer, Keating and Jeff Robson all the way to a grand final LOL.
100%. The knights had won 5 games out of 17 before ponga decided to show up. Fuck gamble.

I agree, of course opposing fans are going to dislike him and think he is a dh but the facts are he plays pretty decent and makes things happen.
Sometimes dishes up rocks but he is better than our fucken halves have been for numerous seasons now.
Yep Gamble's put someone like Burton to shame this year. If Mason didn't work at the dogs he'd be ripping 90% of our players a new one.

Masons made a real goose of himself a lot lately. Needs to stfu. Hes another bad look for the club lately
I read earlier that Burton has more try-assists than both Knights halves combined.
If factual, that strongly suggests those opposing Mase's opinion are said ones talking out of their arse.

If only the number of try assists from halves directly corresponded to position on the ladder. He's also scored 4 tries to their 10 combined.

Mason is right. As shit as Burton has been this season, he still has more try assists than Hastings and Gamble combined... let that sink in.
it’s probably more a reflection on gamble cause hasn’t Hastings been injured? And gamble probably hasn’t played many games cause they persisted with ponga at 6 for a bit. So the stat is bad but not terrible

It's a misleading stat without context. Gamble gets early ball to Newcastle's centres, and look at their tries and TAs this year compared to ours. All it shows is that Burto is relied on as a chief playmaker, whereas Gamble does a job getting the ball to other playmakers while still having a few meat pies for himself. Don't forget: Knights are in the 8 with Gamble, while we're near the bottom again with Burto.
