Nah bro 18th man should be whoever coach wants. They need to be expected to play, and should prepare and train accordingly. The 18th man is once again playing the game, so that’s how important they are.

Just luck of the draw I guess. Sharks are full strength, their best player axed from origin and surely out to prove a point. And we will be missing addo and Burton (who might not even run on for the blues).

We were always behind the 8 ball for this game. Now I’m fearing a back to back walloping unfortunately :(

Atleast the doomsdayers will be happy no Burton :p lol

When is the last time an 18th man even got any game time ?

At the very least Burto should be allowed to play for us

18th man can be called upon during the warm up, it happens. Why would you restrict who can be chosen as the 18th man? Happens multiple times every year. Players get injured in warm ups and the 18th man plays

Tom Deardan was 18th man in game 1 for QLD. He sat out for Nth QLD that week.

This origin Slater has picked AJ Brimson as 18th man. This allows Deardan to play tonight.

Why would Deardan get dropped as 18th man ?????? He didn’t even get a run in the first game ffs.

Origin imo is NOT the most important game or games of the season. Fucking stupid, 18th man should be able to play for their club, fucking nrl the $$ comes before the clubs. My mail is souths boys more focused on winning a comp than bragging rights, andgood on them, rven tho i dislike souths. Smart imo

Yep mate I know what you are saying but Chrichton was there as cover because Latrell was doubtful. If Haas was ruled out yesterday instead of Latrell would Crichton have got elevated to the team ??

My point is that the 18th man named 10 days before the game in origin is rarely the 18th man on the night. Burton wasn’t named in the squad for origin 1 until very late on.

Finally some sense.

Campbell Graham pulled out as soon as he was named 18th man in origin 1.

Granted he didn’t play club footy that week but there was nothing stopping him.
