Both overpaid. I would rather see their money spent on the spine. Our 1 and 7 are still positions we need filled with experience. If we keep one I prefer Thommo. Bigger motor, more consistent, doesn’t go missing like TPJ.

TPJ will bully the teams we should beat.
We need the whole pack to stand up against the teams we are trying to catch.
We can't catch anyone this year. With a better start, we might have seen a bigger performance from TPJ, but his efforts went unrewarded when his offloads just went to uninterested plodders.

Next year, we should be off the blocks better, and a few early wins will build confidence and cohesion. But, for some reason, I'm not expecting 2023 to start any different from 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019.................

TPJ effort off the ball is atrocious man... Go back and watch the game and see how hard he tries to avoid work and contact... Throwing Burton the hospital pass was the icing on his shitty cake.
Yesterday was just ridiculous.. he shouldt have played. If he played for the sheer physiological factor it didn't work because our team went backwards or literally sideways when he came on.

Probably best to cut both loose and hire 4 Max Kings instead.

TPJ and Thompson are quality players. TPJ is either injured or unfit. He should be bought to peak fitness before he plays FG.
Thompson gets monstered by playing as a prop. He is 102kgs,. Most wingers are around that weight now. He is much better suited to the back row where he can run the ball like he did in the UK.
Patolo and Pele are the the big hopes for the future. Both are big units, but both still learning how to use their weight.

Bro, TPJ's ankle is fucked, do you wanna judge him after 1 game for not taking a hitup after playing so well this season. No one ever talked about Ogden and Atoni the soft fucks.
It's not just 1 game, it's over his entire career. That's including him playing at the Broncos. Some custard skins are tougher than him.

The dogs will stlll struggle next year unless 1.the middle forwards are better - with n without the ball 2. the back 5 are able to consistently make metres from the back field.

Whether its the roster, the way they play or lack of stength - the lack of power through the ruck is not good enough after the first 30 minutes.

I would through the money on either Nelson Asofa-Solomona or Payne Haas.

Release Thompson and you have 800k to easily buy 1 of them. NAS is on 600k and we can through in another 100-200k and for Haas you already know he doesn't want to be at the Broncos.
IMHO if our club is not working behind the sceens trying to get Hass they are failing in their duties, particularily with the news that Hass is not been happy at the Broncos.

It’s a huge concern and gets embarrassingly exposed against the top tier sides that play hard and fast through the middle third

Vaughan will be a massive loss

We need a proven prop (recruited ala Haas) and will mean offloading TPJ and or Thommo to accomodate then need some of the younger players to step up

There are a few good young middles at the club who may develop into fg standard. The better ones have been injured most of the year.

TPJ was a complete passenger yesterday.

As 1 commentator (Think it was Blocker) said last week. TPJ, when he knows he's up against a smaller less dominant pack he loves to dominate them. Goes missing when he's needed, that = pussy in my book.

So many games recently that was perfect for Thommo, 800k sitting on the sidelines for some reason?

Yeah fair enough bruv but for some people to call for his sacking? Cmon now He hasn’t been THAT bad.
If he is injured he shouldn't play, it's not like we are challenging for the top 8.

If i was to be critical of Potters coaching yesterday, he should have started with TPJ. Potter should have recognised that Cowboy's subs were going to inject speed into their attack and they did. TPJ couldn't handle the pace when he came on at the same time Cowboy's made changes about 10 mins from half time

I question if TPJ is being played in the wrong position sometimes. Also needed to start.

Cowboys bench dominated us when they came on.

Another stupid thread that pops up after a loss. Take TPJ out and our pack fires from a water pistol
