Kade Dykes is debuting for the Sharks at fullback this weekend.
Apparently Gus was pretty deep in negotiations to get him over for next year to play fullback.
But he knocked us back and signed a 2 yr extension with the Sharks.

It wasn't really a bad game, he just happened to make more errors than he previously did in all his other games at fullback combined lol...

He was definitely flat returning from covid, wasn't pushing up around the ball as much and missed a few opportunities where he probably should've broke through tackles and/or skipped around the defender and run into space. Still ran 160m, had a try involvement, had another line break assist, couple of offloads and was just a pass away from scoring a try. Still plenty of positive contributions for a "bad game".

Will be interesting to see how he bounces back physically this week, Schoupp was quite poor on his return from Covid but looked a lot better physically last week. Bombs were always going to be an issue at some point considering his experience but he has a whole preseason to work on that. Could be an issue this week against Nanai and Holmes chasing kicks.
Yeah, just lethargic/covid hangover I reckon..when JMK makes that break in the first set we had the ball…Jake would usually be pushing up

I am not sure why you seem to think he would automatically follow his dad even though he is contracted here next year and on 500k a year.... In any case, if we did let him go, we would be stuck without a halfback, with no viable replacement on the market. In short, your hatred for Flano is impeding your cognitive function
He lives at home still, so hed have to follow him.

His support play has been so good since he moved to fullback so it was quite noticeable not seeing him pushing up with the play quite as much. Might've also been a bit of a tactical decision as we played down the right a fair bit more than usual and he always seemed to be there in a ballplaying role.

On point sum up, impressive lol

I have plenty of faith in Jake and this week should be a good indication if he is the real deal or not based on the bounce back effect. Kids still popping pimples so time is defo on his side and skill attainment will come but character is what we want to see.

Great work mate.
And that doesnt even include the penalties he gives away. Just checked the stats and surprise surprise Waddell has given way 12 penalties. He is ranked 7th in the NRL and No 1 at the club.
Waddell has been the opposition's best player all year.

Dropped 2 bombs, fucking shit.
Great analysis of Averillo's game...
The bloke has been a revelation since moving to fullback, comes back after suffering COVID-19...
Oh NO he Dropped 2 bombs, sent him to the electric chair :tearsofjoy:
Billy Slater one of the greatest if not the greatest fullbacks ever had butter fingers for a young fullback ?
Just a thought :-)

Averillo is a lost cause tbh.

How about that Rizk guy, the fullback for Lebanon? He went alright, where’s he signed for next season?
Averillo a lost cause hahahhaha, hes been brilliant for weeks and had a few classy touches vs knights, albeit a few dropped bombs but he ll clear that up the more he plays there, you are clueless mate
