Why I think we badly need a decent half.

Persist with Flanno until Hayward is ready.
I haven't seen enough of Hayward yet. But in the minimal games I have watched he reminds me of young Drew Hutchinson a little bit, of course I hope he reaches greater heights.

Gus has already decided who he WANTS to be in the 7 next year and when the time is right he will share this with us, assuming that he gets who he wants (which he usually does). Until then we to do our best with Flanno.
Gus can’t decide if we haven’t even decided who our coach is for next year. Who really would we bring in at halfback on the current market anyways?

With the Cup Captaincy handed to him, BBO seems to have cut out the ad lib low percentage plays and he played very constructively today.

He deserves a go and with a bit more specialised coaching and development he could be a revelation with a few full fg games under his belt.

You guys are just negative nancys. Flanagan didn’t do much wrong today. He allowed Burton to be the dominants half, got us a repeat set for the first try, threw the long ball out for the Kiraz try and earned us a couple of goal line drop outs. I’m not saying he’s prime Andrew Johns, but the last two weeks he’s been fine. How about we enjoy winning with the team we have at the moment instead of needlessly bashing our players when they didn’t do much wrong? Burton has had some bad games this year too. Our whole team has. I’ll support JMK and Flanagan as long as they wear our colours. Guess what? Averillo looked shit this year at time but now he’s blossoming. Can we enjoy our wins without bashing our players for once? He’s obviously not JT but he’s the best we have at the moment.

Here’s a stat for you guys
When Flanagan didn’t play this year we never scored more than 12 points. 0/4

When Flanagan has played we’ve only scored less than 12 points twice. 9/11

He was fantastic today, being at the ground behind the posts you get a good feel of how he organised the team knew when to run and when to organise
He will push for 7 next year

Just put BBO in for the rest of the year FFS.

We need a genuine HB option and he might be just it.

Only one that hasn't had a go on the HB merry go round. Plus he is getting better every game in reserves. Already better than flamingo.

Lol we are just starting to build some potent attacking combinations and you Bozos want to change it.

It was clear from the presser today that Potter is pretty happy with our spine and the way they are felling at the moment..

Zero chance Flanno gets dropped. If he stays fit snd injury free, he’s out 7 for the rest of the year, so stop being so negative and give the guy a break.

I agree he’s better but last time he got a go in FG halves he froze up and didn’t really inject himself. Idk if it’s worth the gamble right now while were playing well, never know if it would piss off burton or the rest of the spine to dump Flanno now

I think the More time he plays 7 in cup the better, when the time comes for him to step up he will be able to hold the spot

Unless its an elite half, e.g. Munster, I think halfback will just have to come from within. I wouldn't have a problem with BBO playing and we have Hayward and Rajab coming through.

Did his job directing the team around the park but was also a big reason we didn’t capitalise in the first half with ample ball

Literally surrendered with the ball a couple times and missed opportunities to send the ball wide instead he turned the likes of Waddell under just needlessly burning tackles

But as a spine it’s the best we have looked overall in years

Flanno although not the best, had also been trying and playing well, the whole team have really come together an Played with pride for the jersey, so flanno is respected for that.

Young switched on kid who can defend.. he is solid and a perfect foil for Burton. I like BBO but his passing under pressure is way off for my liking.

Personally I think we can do better than Flamingo at 7 even with what we already have, I fact I even think JuNk should have been tried their, he "might" have been OK at 9, if of course we had some else to play 9.

Drum some video session into him and point him in the right direction, he was ok but is not standing out as a half might.

I think he is going very well albeit in a team that is is struggling - he takes the the ball to the line and is prepared to get hit. Has been heavily targeted by other teams but bounces back. Id like to see him in reggies even from the bench.
