Could you just stay on the ferry for days and turn it into a mini cruise.
Like Fairstar the funship back in the eighties.
The captains on the old Manly ferries had basic accommodation so they could stay on board overnight for the first run of the day.
Passengers were kicked off after the last run.

It's amazing that I look at that photo from over 100 years ago and know exactly what it is today. Those buildings in the background are where the AMP tower is now, and Circular Quay station is just in front of it now on Alfred Street.
Note the two wheels on the Emu's top deck. She was a double ended ferry; the captain just had to turn around to take her back.

Manly Promenade - circa 1904
A Cagney locomotive from the USA. Cagney exported these all over the world.

The Coleman family of Earlwood started making their own amusement park trains. People would remember them at the Royal Easter Show, Coogee beach, and at various fairs around Sydney.

The Cagneys were real steam locomotives; Coleman's had auto engines, so were fake steam locos.

How many remember the train at Taronga Zoo?
