His defence isn’t there yet
Not so sure about that, he had some big boppers run at him one-on-one today and handled it. Someone wrote here earlier about Avo to no.1 and BBO to no.7 next week which would be interesting to see how that would go.

Also when does Barrett start to hold himself accountable for all these fuckups? Example selecting Napa week after week? Give one of our youngsters a run instead of these wasted space of a player

Sorry mate there are pieces missing with him as a half…He is not FG in that position.
You are right, there are missing pieces but he can still develop them over time. Issue is he has been forced into the halfback role in a system that is heavily reliant on halfback dominating (look at Penrith with May instead of Cleary) when he has spent more time playing fullback, centre or 5/8. If you actually watched some of him in the lower grades then you would see his style of play has totally changed.

Baz has to move him to a different role or rest him to try and protect him and get him back to doing what he's actually good at instead of trying to manufacture him into the halfback he wants. Then again Baz compared Flanagan to Cleary so fuck knows where his head is at.

If Averillo strength is his ball running then he has no hope for a footballer .

Not once did I see him try take on the line , he doesn’t put the defense in 2 minds and his kicking game is putrid

Biondi already shows a lot more , he engages the line and can throw a good crisp ball .

If Flanagan was criticised for not running so should Averillo and Lear Flanagan has a kicking game

Right there was a case in point, Napa and the Sharks prop are wrestling for the ball, the Sharks prop when released takes two steps forward to stop Napa from getting into marker and plays the ball.

The refs should be all over that, it is so easy to spot even they can do it. Stop play, make the tackled player get back on the mark and let the markers get into position. Players will stop that rubbish really quick if the refs are consistent enough.
Sharks broke early in the scrum- no repeat set to us.
