Not a whole lot. Certainly didn't confirm he was staying though.
The reporter suggested there were a few clubs interested, and asked what his thoughts were. He mentioned being a junior, but didn't categorically state he would love to stick around. He just kind of said he will see what happens.
Thanks for that, hope he stays. He’s rough at the moment but I feel as though it’s all effort areas. Annoying to see teams like the storm talk about effort making their players as good as they are when we were always known as a club with that mentality

Larsen Doyle only played half game - looks like a genuine outside back - did everything he needed to do - nice inside pass for one try. Im so desperate for any good news im making assessments on half a game in Reggies and whether or not they look like football players.

We all are :grinning:

Mounties played some good footy when they got on top.
Dummy half passes hit their spot.
Let's not forget we have Mick Potter on hand coaching for us so that's something.

They dont look like it, but all our FB options need to be getting some specialist FB training from him.

First iv seen of him play was yesterday - manu did play well - he has been around for a while just lhasnt been able to breakthrough. Larson Doyle is only 18 and as i said im looking for anything that may brighten my bulldog eyes - it is encouraging that the club seems to be"pushing' development rather than waiting - a few sgball players have moved up to flegg and based on results are doing ok. Larsen Doyle only played a couple of flegg games before going to nsw cup.

I reckon it’s more so the other way round Maria. Renoufs been with the club for almost a decade, and has been afforded 40 first grade games. It’s fair to say that out of that 40 games he’s produced a pretty mixed bag.

Plain and simply - the club have invested a lot in Renouf and there hasn’t been much of a return on that investment
@Horse I I’m not by all means stating that he is a superstar but you state that he has been given ample opportunities in 40 first grade games. Did you take in account that from those 40 games he’s only been given limited minutes playing time in most of them? IMO all three coaches (Pay, Georgalas and Barrett) have and are costing him his career because there is no way that I believe that Napa, Elliott and Stimson should have been selected before him! Time and time again. So how has the club invested in him? He has come through the ranks but that obviously means nothing to the club . This is not a good sign for all the future juniors. This is my opinion, but If he ends up at another club I think we may kick ourselves for letting him go.

40 games is more opportunities than most have been afforded over the years. In fact approximately 60% of all players play less than 30 in their career, and trust me they aren’t all getting big minutes. It’s all about how you make the most of your opportunities, no matter how brief they may be. For example someone like Moses Leota who averaged 20 mins per game from the bench for the first 40-50 odd games of his career. Plugged away with consistency in the work he did with albeit limited minutes and is now a starter.

You questioning the Clubs investment in Renouf is also a weird one. He’s been backed and supported through the grades for nearly a decade. Access to rugby league development/coaching, personal development, mental health support, education, physical development, general health and diet support. And provides him with a very nice pay cheque at the end of the week.

He’s 26 years old next month, and we should be getting a lot more out of him by now.

My point is that he is playing better than players that Are constantly being selected before him. And yes he had been supported for a decade and so has Elliot? Tell me how the club is being fair??

Simply put - Elliot has a few more ‘runs on the board’ which is why he’s afforded a bit more patience with his form than what To’omaga gets. Personally, I would’ve had Elliott joining Renouf in the Mounties pack last weekend.

Talk about patience... I am not to sure about more “runs on the board” as I am about the 3 crosses near his name on the board for his off field incidents. Not only has Atoni been playing better than him this year but he is also a nice kid that keeps his nose clean! Maybe it’s about time the club hire an “auditor” to check on their investments!
