The best young hooker is probably Simpkin from the Tigers. If Madge insists on playing Liddle who is ordinary and misses a tonne of tackles, and Mbye as a bench option ahead of him.. Then we should absolutely target Simpkin...

I still think they should keep Reynolds for two years. He suits their team perfectly and they're in their premiership window. Like I said, I guess it shows how ready they think Taafe is.

If the Cheese comes it because we have paid overs to be honest.. I dont think we should underestimate the player loyalty that club oozes and they rarely lose players they want.. JAC would have stayed if his family were all down there 100%.. Happy to find cheaper solutions and allow Tbaz to build the hooker he wants long term here..

With Burton coming we shouldn't need to pay top tier hooker money? Just a good dummy half to get him the ball and maybe? with good players around him, a guy like Deitz could go ok with a bit more specialised coaching?

His manager would be trying to milk a desperate club, both Brisbane and the Bulldogs are in that predicament without an experienced or creative hooking option and losing games at will.
His dilemma is, Melbourne aren’t going to pay him $700K+ and he’s going to have to play lock. The Broncos would be his next preferred option after that, but they don’t have 700k+ to spend on a hooker, the Titans would be his next best choice, but they aren’t spending 700k for a nine, they have their sights on Staggs or Dearden but I don’t think they have too much left in their kitty either, but if they do, the money is reserved for a strike centre (although they may snare Dearden).
The Warriors could be a viable option, particularly with RTS money freeing up space..
I think the previous rumour had some legs to it, we must have come close and the subsequent talk may have spooked the Cheese... we might hear something evolve after the Storm game...no doubt TB will have a chat to a few players down there, not just Cheese.
