All i known is I've seen enough of Atoni and Ray to knowni don't want them In the team. They're SOFT.

I know you rate Atoni, buts SOFT as. Big as, fast as, footwork for days, speed for a big man but plays like meh.

It's early days but there were games last year where Atoni was literally the only forward causing problems for the opposition.

this might be a bit harsh, but it is an immediate reaction

Allan - a couple costly mistakes but it was a tough night in tough conditions and a little quiet in attack but we had little go forward

Meaney - playing wing in attack and centre in defence means that he goes unnoticed for a lot of the match... nothing wrong from what I can tell

Cotric - ran strong, made a good line break and made an off load which led to DWZ's second but two costly errors early near our try line --> majku mu jebem

Hopoate - not much happened down his side... solid but nothing more

DWZ - ran hard, scored two tries but there was the obligatory handling error coming out of our own end which led to a Knights try and you just knew it was coming... but the play which proved what a stupid player he is was he jumping in the air from one our bombs but not being close enough to contest... the Knights player simply caught the ball and without an opposing player in front of him ran for 40-50 metres and if Watson didn't throw a bad pass, the Knights' would have scored... honestly, it was like watching my 3 year old niece jumping on a trampoline screaming in delight: "wee, daddy, look... I can fly!"

Averillo - had a couple good touches and showed some kicking ability... looking forward to seeing how he develops

Flanagan - very happy with his debut... he kicked well, involved in all three tries, strong in defence

Hetherington - an honest effort but struggled against the Knights forwards that seemed to target him

Katoa - an okay game... good service from dummy half but bombed a try

Ogden - squad player only IMO... dominated by the Knights pack... soft

Elliot - bad miss on Safiti for the Knights first try but scored one of his own... ran some tough lines

Waddell - put on a couple hits on Knights backs but part of a badly beaten pack

Jackson - much like Waddell

Atoni - good off the bench, good footwork before the line, some good post contact metres

Deitz - not much opportunity to inject himself into the game... hope he gets another shot

RFM - costly error

Dylan motherf*+#ing Napa - who is responsible for his conditioning... he looked like he was running out for a legends match for players that retired 10-15 years ago

the Knights were missing Ponga, lost their five-eighth to a knee injury in the first half, and Hoy looked like he played half the match concussed and yet, what happened? forget signing pretty little centres... they may look good on a poster but they don't win you matches, your spine and go forward do... and the Knights pack punched holes through us... and we dropped too much ball

Yeah didn't make any mistakes, made ok meters and tackles his man.

That's is what he will do at centre without the ball.

He is good in the air so Flano should direct a few bombs his way.

Missed the tackle on Bradman Best one on one that lead to a try. I’m not shitting on Hoppa but he will
Need to offer a bit more to be resigned.

I don't disagree about Renouf, i've always said it's confidence and fitness with him and at this stage he's a bit part player that needs to prove he can play a role off the bench.

But when Renouf makes THREE tackles less than Hetherington, THREE runs less, more metres per carry, less missed tackles, etc...yet Hetherington plays 59 minutes vs Renoufs 27?? People want to praise Hetherington??? LOL FOR WHAT? Give him 321? Our middles got rolled, the fuck are our middles even copping a vote lol

Some thoughts:

- Refereeing was absolutely disgusting but we lost this game in the forwards. We really lack a genuine forward leader in the front row. Hetherington and Atoni showed glimpses, Ogden was too passive and Napa is still useless.
- Hopoate looks like he's on another level out there. And by another level I mean he looks like he's moving underwater. Can't see him lasting the season in first grade based on Barrett's style of play.
- Deitz should start next week if JMK is still injured. I don't care how raw he is, Katoa is almost as slow as Hopoate.
- Flanagan and Averillo combo actually showed promise. But these halves aren't going to be able to do anything without a forward pack that dominates.
- Did I mention the refereeing was disgusting? That so called Averillo forward pass was a bad call. Not only was it a bad call it completely negated the obvious Pearce infringement where he shouldve went to the bin. Referee too gutless to make that call so he want back to a phantom forward pass. Not to mention the onslaught of 6 agains although Newcastle were apparently perfect in the ruck until the end where the ref decided to even up the count once it was over.

I honestly thought it was a penalty try. If that happened in the field of play, it's a penalty every day of the week.

Napa was a waste of time.

I felt embarrassed for him. He was a morale for the maroons a few years ago. He would struggle to earn a jersey at another club at the moment.
