We have lots players scattered across west and tigers junior squads now. Our Matt’s are not as strong as last year. Was talking to Matt’s tigers coach who has said they got a lot out good kids spread them across both clubs so they don’t loose them. Was something to do with a parent or coach wasn’t happy at dogs and brand a heap a kids across with them. Hopefully our Matt’s kids can push there egos aside and get better by end of year

Yeah I highly disagree with an unhappy parent or coach taking players with them. The (supposed) unhappy parent or coach took their child/children with them. But all in all, it’s up to the individual child and their own parents to make that decision of moving on their kids. And maybe, just maybe the Doggies didn’t/couldn’t provide/have what the Tigers were offering. Charbel the SG Coach of last year moved on and his Brother is the top dog, you can’t tell me he left because he was unhappy. Maybe they all left because they could see better opportunities for themselves and/or their children. And there’s nothing wrong with that. We just have to make sure that we do the best with the kids we got and hopefully see them go up through the ranks.

How does coaching Juniors work in league? Do you need a licence? Are there various types for different age groups or levels? Does the club provide training?

Coaches course. There are different course’s for different ages and levels from community club coach mini’s all the way up to international level. It is normally at your own expense and is done through the NRL. You can find out more on PlayNRL website

Thanks. I coached Football (soccer) and was just wondering if they had a similar system for League.

They are struggling this year. The both centres look good but they keep trying to show how tough they are instead playing football. I’d give both them a run in second row. There both big enough. It will improve there game and ball control which lets them down quite a bit. You can’t win games at that level with no ball control and controlled aggression
