Well this isn’t really me, but it was my uncle… And I thought I’d share it because it is of one of the most famous people you could ever meet..He was a long time fan of Muhammed Ali… When Ali came to Australia in the early 80s..I think he appeared on the Logies.. he decided to take his scrapbook, which had clippings and pictures that went right back to Ali’s beginnings, to the motel where Ali was staying, The Boulevard near Kings Cross. (Asked my father to go but the dickhead didn’t) Anyway he gave it to the guy at the front desk, And he actually sent it up to Muhammed’s room.. next thing you know the guy at the front desk calls over my uncle and says Ali wants to see you. So he escorted my uncle to his room, where Ali greeted him sat down with him, and went through his book for about an hour. He said to my uncle how about we make this valuable, so he signed every single page, and it was one thick scrapbook! Before my uncle left Ali said he would send some photographs of when he was younger, and some photos that verified that this was actually signed by himself. True to his word he sent those pictures, including a picture of himself and my uncle sitting at the Boulevard, which had a little blurb verifying that these signatures were Ali’s. Now that’s a brush with Royalty!

Ps..pity my uncle is a prick! Lol..

Very interesting Chris and some great memories. but this is "GOLD" :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

I once met leading paleontologist and Tyrannosaur expert, Phil Currie at a lecture one time. I asked him if dinosaurs tasted like chicken. Said he'd never been asked that before in his life, but on reflection, probably, yes.

Hahaha. I think she may have been dating the poo at the time. As much as poo and korn can be synonymous together I could’ve taken him out. It was in melbourne in the early 2000’a after all haha

No celebrities but I met a group of people who I really admired... in 2005. I was walking through Campsie down the main stripe (about a 10 minute walk from Belmore Sports Ground), and I saw a small group of people (less than 10) wearing Bulldogs gear and had some flags and what had you. This was taking place outside a cafe. As I approached, I saw there was Hazem El Masri, Willie Mason, SBW and Reni Maitua. Now as you may remember, 2005 was a very bad year for us. Most of those 4 players had either very long or season-ending injuries and this was during that period. I said a few words to all of them to try and unlift their spirits. It worked lol... Mason's heads was face down on the table because of how much he was laughing and SBW's cheeks turned red. Anyway I wished them all the best and headed off, but just as I did SBW said "Hey bro, can I have a hug?" - I was blown away. He actually asked me for a hug lol. I thought why not and gave him a hug lol.

I can name a few. A good mate if mine, Seth Larney, was responsible for the visual effects of many movies made in australia over the years. Movies such as the Matrix trilogy, Superman, and Wolverine. He developed a close relationship with Hugh Jackman while on the set of Wolverine, and when he finally proposed to his now wife, Hugh hosted, and paid for his engagement party at Tobys on oxford st. While at the party i had the chance to have a good chat with Hugh, and i can assure you he is as genuine and down to earth as everyone says he is.
I also worked on Lizard island, which is an exclusive 5 star resort 290km north of cairns. During my time there Greg norman spent a week with his family there, Teri Hatcher spent aboout a week there with her daughter, and allthough i didnt meet him, Nicholas cage moored his epic yacht in the secluded bay, and paid for his staff to spend 2 nights in the resort as a reward for their hard work.

By the way, my mate Seth has just released his first feature film. Its called "2067". It was as high as number 3 in the american box office charts, and no 1 for sci-fi. Sadly, Covid shit canned that one, but it will be available on netflix at the end of the month. Check it out.

One of the most uncomfortable celeb interactions I've seen is when we went to a band singing at Utopia. They had Suicidal Tendencies and Alice in Chains
That's not uncomfortable at all, just get up on stage, save Alice and be the hero, there's no telling what the crazy suicidal guys would do to her

He was talking about how dinosaurs did not become extinct; that the smaller feathered ones - the birds - got through the disaster, and are still with us today.

Birds are now classified under dinosauria; and the extinct fellas are referred to as non-avian dinosaurs. Given that birds are dinosaurs, I just had to ask the question.
