For anyone who missed it, Trump's tax returns finally came out. Leading up to the US election his businesses have all been operating at a loss and most years he dodged paying tax.

Surely Biden will pull this up constantly in the debate.
Haven't read the story yet to understand it fully. Personally, I don't care how much tax he paid so long as he followed the law.

All of us should be minimizing our tax as much as possible. Anyone who doesn't minimize their tax is either lazy or ignorant.

Also, in the back of my mind I kind of wonder whether these new tax returns were intentionally leaked by Trump. He wants less conversation about Coronavirus and more conversation about him in the lead up to the election. He's had a track record of misleading the media by leaking his own information, such as this:

Another one. Exit polls showing that of the under $50k voters, 52% voted for Hilary while 44% voted for Trump. Of the over $50k voters, 47% voted for Hilary while 49% voted for Trump.

As a side note, this includes the voters by race which has:

White - 37% Hilary, 58% Trump
Black - 88% Hilary, 8% Trump
Latino - 65% Hilary, 29% Trump

It's a bit of a mix. Part beatup, part factual.

In many cases it's normal legal expenses, but in some cases it's illegal expenses like claiming back his house, his private jet, and hair care products. But it's only small infringements. Not exactly embezzlement or anything like that. But it shows that he didn't pay tax for 10 of the 15 years recorded, and he only paid $750 per year for his election year and first year of presidency while he was telling everyone that he paid millions of dollars in tax.

So it just shows that he's willing to lie to make himself look better. Like always. And just like normal, he's started claiming that it's fake news so nothing much will come of it.

he told everyone he is paying millions in tax because he doesnt want people to know he was poor and living off borrowed money and the scraps he can get as a celebrity

Anyone else find it funny that the left are now àttacking Trump for not being rich enough? Just 12 short years ago the left seemed somewhat credible in their critiques of wall street, forever wars and the 1%, now they are their biggest champions.

If Trump came out tomorrow and said he hates the devil, wednesdays papers would be full of stories in the about how God persecuted Lucifer and that the devil is really the good guy. Followed by mass baptisms into the church of satan.

Can you go into more detail when you say that ‘the well off’ like Trump. This is demonstrably false. Rich elites turn their noses at trump, particularly the ultra rich in LA, NY and DC.

the entire Trump presidency has been characterised for 4 years by rich elites including politicians, tech moguls, Wall Street types and the media elite all attempting to get him out of office.
That explains why he has 17 millionaires, a multimillionaire and a billionaire (apparently) in his cabinet. So far seen no evidence of draining the swamp. Maybe that's his pledge for his 2nd term.

im attacking trump for being a phony, scamming people, not paying people, acting like he is a billionaire and not beholden to anyone when he is actually more beholden than anyone, is a confirmed welsher for hundreds of millions, borrowed money with the intention of not paying it back

if trump comes out and says he likes the devil, his supporters would be full of stories in the about how God persecuted Lucifer and that the devil is really the good guy. Followed by mass baptisms into the church of satan.

So the you admit that the left are just as reflexively against Trump as his supporters are for him? I will respect you if you can admit you are just as reactionary as hick Trump supporters.

Although, they admittedly seem a lot happier than you.

Its all about "tHE LefT"... I also saw plenty of comments to Murdoch articles pointing out Trump not drawing his salary as President as if he was some sort of to bloke who is making nothing out of being President.

The Toot has summed up the tale of American politics better than I can:

Nation Where GP Appointments Cost More Than President’s Tax Bill Says Medicare Is Communism

CLANCY OVERELL | Editor | CONTACT
With 44 days until the American presidential election, the same old issues that never change are once again at the forefront of political debate in the United States.
Gun control, the separation of church and state, and the minimum wage are being bandied around – with one side of politics arguing nothing should change, and the other major party arguing that it’s important to look like they might possibly interested in maybe changing things.
These same old issues join a few new contenders, namely the argument over whether or not a virus that has killed over 200,000 people is actually real, or how it might be a little bit unethical to elect a supreme court judge into a job for life just a couple weeks before the entire White House administration could very be completely restructured.
However, one issue that is receiving absolutely no air time is the idea that it is considered a radical left wing delusion to expect that every citizen of the country is entitled to not dying in medical poverty.
This follows a new report by the New York Times which reveals that President Donald Trump has paid no federal income taxes in 10 of the past 15 years.
The same report says that Trump, the first president in history to refuse to disclose his tax filings, paid only $750 in taxes in 2016 when he was elected, and in his first year in the White House – which is roughly the same amount of money that the average American is expected to pay to treat themselves for a common flu.
With some healthcare providers charging close to 1000 dollars for a simple doctor’s appointment, the American people have for a long time grown more and more conditioned to a system where there is a free market approach to simply treating medical problems.
However, any push to bring about basic universal healthcare like we have in Australian, has been immediately written off as full blown communism – as it is every single time someone brings it up.
The Betoota Advocate hit the streets of Omaha, Nebraska to see if anything has changed in the way people view a system where rich people can be expected to give nothing back to a society that seems structured to benefit them the most.
“Health care? Sorry. This isn’t Russia” says one Trump supporter, Deborah, seemingly oblivious to how close her own President actually is with Russia.
“Problem with communism, is that you run out of other peoples money” says her husband, a proud American named Chet, who treats his worsening shoulder pain from a high school football injury with fentanyl opiates that he buys at the local Walmart.
“Where’s the money gonna come from? huh?” asks another middle American voter who is sick of paying taxes on his income that sits just above the poverty line, but also seems quite content with the idea of his billionaire President paying even less tax than he does.
“Sorry snowflakes. You can take your radical left wing ideas like free healthcare and the assurance that someone working two jobs should not live in poverty, back to Shanghai with all the other Russians!”

Was watching Outsiders on Sky News tonight for a laugh. They were basically saying, "lefty's are worried about Trump refusing to accept the election results if he loses, but they've never accepted Trump", then they went on about how climate change isn't real, the earth is 6,000 years old, ScoMo is crap because he doesn't bas renewables, etc, etc.

It's quite a good comedy.
Sky News is comedy gold. It is concerning how many people eat that rubbish up. Just like over in America people tune into Fox news and think it is gospel.

And the papers would be right. Lucifer gets a bad rap. He just wanted to overthrow a tyrant.
