I can understand why you see no issues with loopholes given that your club benefits from every kind known. But it's a bit sad that a club like yours that doesn't even carry a large supporter base constantly benefits while seeing this happen drives supporters away from the game.Loopholes are one way to look at it, another is they are starting their apprenticeship to maybe becoming head coaches. 15 out of 16 current head coaches are ex players and I'll bet they all started out running the water.
I look at the NRL as being short sighted. Enough fans get angry with the game and stop watching and the sponsorship deals dry up. I know a couple of former union fans that stopped watching for various reasons. And I think union is maybe 20 years ahead of league with driving fans away. From all reports, they're not far from bankruptcy. The NRL administration would do well to fix the salary cap so that loopholes don't keep making the strongest rosters stronger. Might be nice for fans of the few clubs that are dominant, but many other fans get fed up with seeing glamour clubs get whatever they want.
