I really don't think he has a future in the NRL.
He just isn't skilful enough as a half and even if he spent months in the gym I can't see him turning into a lock.
He lacks agility and speed at his current weight this will just get worse as he bulks up.
I believe he has got a great attitude and good defence...
If he is convinced, he could became a team work-horse !!!

We have enough project players that we are hoping to come good. I’d take someone that has played lock or prop for years in the squad over trying to develop Lewis into one. Lewis can tackle but that alone doesn’t cut it in the NRL.

Wait for Holland to be on the bench over Averillo. I heard To'omaga has been slimming down but I wouldn't be suprised to see Britt or RFM in the second row either. The rest is almost guaranteed tho (maybe bar a Lewis inclusion :P).

Predicted team for r3 by foxsports yesterday. Apart from chris smith, which i read somewhere else today is still 6 weeks away from returning to full training, this is close to what we have.

CANTERBURY BULLDOGS

1. Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 2. Nick Meaney 3. Reimis Smith 4. Will Hopoate 5. Christian Crichton 6. Brandon Wakeham 7. Kieran Foran 8. Aiden Tolman 9. Jeremy Marshall-King 10. Dylan Napa 11. Josh Jackson 12. Dean Britt 13. Adam Elliott 14. Chris Smith 15. Renouf To’omaga 16. Raymond Faitala-Mariner 17. Jake Averillo

Analysis: The big in for the Bulldogs is chief playmaker Kieran Foran who is a high chance of returning. The 29-year-old faced missing the entire season when he had surgery but all reports prior to the season shutdown said he was ahead of schedule. Considering Lachlan Lewis was benched in their last outing, Dean Pay is likely to stick with young gun Brandon Wakeham to partner Foran in the halves. Chris Smith is also expected to return from a knee injury, while Joe Stimson is possibly ruled out for the season after shoulder surgery.
Some players that are named and you think hurry the fuck up 2021, Tolman slow and a nuisance, Crichton is crap, also throw in JMK, he's ok but definitely need a quality hooker.

On paper with whatever we put out we're a bottom four team. We achieved better last season in the same situation (possibly worse if we're just looking at ourselves, other teams have strengthened well tho) so don't give up entirely until we're mathematically out of finals contention.

We are bottom 4.
And the club has shown no intention to fix it. The squad has got weaker since the start of the year and they are just sitting back and doing nothing about it.

Not ideal long term, but this is what I'd go with r3
1. Meaney
2. DWZ
3. Hopoate
4. Averillo
5. Smith
6. Foran
7. Wakeham
8. Napa
9. JMK
10. Tolman
11. Jackson
12. Elliot
13. Britt

14. Cogger / Katoa
15. Mariner
16. To'Omaga
17. Ogden or any front rower

* I like Cogger as an organising 7 but I think 9 wouldn't be a bad option for him, worth testing out as he's off contract and we need to sort out who we are going to keep.
In all my time here at the kennel, probably the most logical line up I have ever seen...nice

CHN is a massive loss we don’t have anyone in the squad like him. We really need to bring someone in.
With Pay's recruiting history, he'll probably bring in Clay Priest again. Problem solved.
