Meh was always going to happen. People support political parties like they support their favourite sporting team. Most could have the leader of their preferred party come out and say he is going to shit on everyones head and they would still vote for him, while at the same time criticising the opposition leader for wanting to give everyone $1000 each out of his own pocket. Its tribalism and its dangerous tbh.

Me, Im a swinging voter, Ill vote for the party that most closely aligns with by beliefs and needs at the time.

Im thinking you accidentally quoted me in this response but if not, yes it is tribalism.

However if this tribalism comment is directed at myself, I've got a very comprehensive clue about politics, because i actively follow it, i actively read economic analysis, i actively look at what governments implement instead of what they " just say".

The libs since howard have become a party devoid of ANY compassion for those doing it tough.

Their policies have always been directed to benefit the top end of town and take away services from those desperately in need.

It's not really that he did anything bad. It's that he was dead stupid about it. Goes on holiday while a crisis is going on. It's understandable that the holiday was planned well ahead of time but as Prime Minister you'd have to stop and think how it would look.

He followed this up with a stream of stupid things. I only partially blame him. His advisors should have known better.

Still nothing compared to the idiocy he did yesterday. A woman refused to shake his hand so he grabbed her hand on camera and forced her to shake it, then refused to answer he questions and go his handler to get rid of her. On camera.

The guy is a PR nightmare and his PR team are a joke.

I can't stand ScoMo. Extremely unlikable, has no idea how to relate to the public. Pushes a religious freedoms bill through when there are so many more important things going on.

Going on holiday and lying about it during a national crisis when you are the PM is just stupid PR. As if anything good is going to come from that. Then he comes back because it blew up in the media, does not apologise, then goes on this incredibly fake and forced PR tour. Forces a lady to shake his hand (which is assault), then when she is CALMLY asking him stuff and explaining her position he turns his back and walks off whilst one of his Nationals cronies tries to soothe the woman like he knows her. All this guy wants is photos of him shaking peoples hands and people being happy about him being there. People are not stupid though, and everyone can see that he is just trying to fix his reputation, he doesn't actually give a shit.

Then to try to force another person to shake his hand, WTF? Has this guy ever interacted with regular people at all? Then makes a comment about how the guy was probably just tired when in actual fact he lost his home. I can't get over how clueless he is.

I just hope that all this shit is enough to get rid of him next election, but I have my doubts.

I know a guy who has a severely disabled son (blind, wheelchair bound) and this guy is the nicest, smartest bloke around. He never has a bad thing to say about his situation or anyone in general but he has nothing but bad shit to say about the NDIS. If a dad in his position cannot easily get help, then I know it is fucked up.
