I understand the point of difference but club function or not, bashing people on a drunken rampage is much worse than getting naked at a private function.

And we all know that if it was the Roosters players doing that after they won the GF, it would be laughed off and no fine would be handed down.
I agree although I think the Bali incidents are poor examples as not much in them. The NRL are consistently inconsistent. You can only deal with the hand you are dealt with

He should be sent to an independent doctor who makes the decision for him. If the doctor recommends retirement then the NRL shouldn't allow any future contracts to be registered. That will never happen of course and instead the market for 2021 will decide for Foran. .. No team will be crazy enough to sign him .. except possibly on minimum wage. He is being selfish to play on, but we were stupid to sign him so whose fault is it? .. give him a job at the club and argue hard that it's a new injury.. it's really our only hope of decent compensation.

I bet you Foran signs with manly for 2021.
November 1 st is here, and Foran is now allowed to negotiate a contract for 2021. We should ask him to test the market and see what offers there are out there for him in 2021.
If there is none then the NRL must see that he can no longer continue to play and unless they are determined to harm our club they must give our club full cap dispensation.
If Foran is unable to negotiate a contract for 2021 it will prove just how selfish he is by not retiring.

To be fair the others did retire. But also where did they do there injuries? At the club there employed by. Foran wasn’t on club duty when he fucked his shoulder. The NRL should honestly be compensating the dogs the whole of Forans salary. If not compensated properly, if I’m the dogs, I’m saying to the NRL we’re not allowing any of our players to play rep footy.

To be honest it showed a lack of leadership at our club for allowing a cripple like Foran to play that game in the first place. Especially when it was months after his last club game and he dealt with about five different injuries throughout last season.

In situations like this the NRL should take the advice of Foran's surgeon about whether he can play on or not and ignore the player as their focus, rightly or wrongly, is to continue making money. Or at the very least have an independent doctor look at the scans and surgery results and then they advise the NRL whether the player is eligible to be medically retired.

The thread is not about foran retiring. Its more so related to the dogs fighting for proper cap relief for Foran. If he stays or not. We will see how the dogs go with this.
Definitely. If a player is ruled out for the entire season before it's even kicked off there MUST be cap relief of some sort.

He was even ruled out before off season training began. We're getting nothing from him as a player on the field and nothing from him as far as helping the development of other halves.

The big difference between players like Gillette and Burgess V Foran, is that those 2 wanted to retire. For some reason Foran seems to be in total denial......someone needs to tell him its all over.

The headline of the article is a bit misleading but I agree with the gist. Its totally ridiculous that sides should handicapped like this through no fault of their own. And yet sides like the Sharkies who systematically rort the cap for years get a much less handicap. How the hell does that make any sense? The whole system needs to be blown up!

Who is his agent. Time to send the media hounds, ala Uncle Nick and Latrell, onto the players agent and bag him out for being criminal, reckless and careless with Foran's future health by not advising him to accept the surgeons findings of extensive year/contract ending damage.

Why the Dogs all the time with these illogical dramas which we are always on the wrong side of!

Lets be honest here. We are SO lucky to even get 350K. The guy made the most basic of tackles and hurt himself. Imagine doing that round 1 and then really screwing over the season.

The difference is the way these guys are going out. Foran run of bad luck has been since he left Manly. He feels the need to prove himself. Remember this was the guy that was on par with DCE when he left but has been cold ever since.

If your playing rep footy then more often then not your getting more then 350k a season so this cap relief should not be capped at 350....It's Bullshit

We have as much chance of them changing the 350k rule as buckley did. Maybe its to ramp up pressure on Foran to accept retirement and take on alternative income in coaching.

Why us? Sick of it!

Burgess. Matulino. Gillett. All go quietly in their best interests and their clubs. Meanwhile the most patched up, bearly functioning NRL player in the comp, wants to play on and with most injuries and damage sustained with other clubs ..only played for us for 2 years, all with no contract for 2021 when he is "supposedly" said to be repaired and good as new. Joke.

The worst signing ever and certainly the most selfish and deluded. Prepared to thoroughly trash his reputation, sponge off a club who has supported him to the utmost possible and hold back any progress and success of his own team mates premiership, careers and playing success.

Time for a reality check for all parties.
