The Legends of League tournament returns this weekend at the McDonalds Jones Stadium, Newcastle for the third consecutive year, with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs side looking to claim a three-peat

The Legends of League tournament is a charity event raising funds for the Mark Hughes Foundation into brain cancer research, with some of rugby

league's biggest names in history playing in an action-packed day of "old school" rugby league

The Bulldogs have won both tournaments since inception in 2017, and have never lost a game

Canterbury claimed a thrilling 10-6 victory over Newcastle in the inaugural year, while last year’s win saw the Bulldogs fight their way back from a 14-point

deficit against the Barbarians, with 27 unanswered points in a 27-14 victory
This year’s side will be led by 2004 premiership winning captain Andrew Ryan

and features fellow Canterbury greats like Rod Silva, Mark O’Meley, Willie Mason, Luke Patten, Reni Maitua, and Brent Sherwin, while club legend Hazem El Masri has been named as coach

Five clubs in the NRL Telstra Premiership will be represented with ex-legends from Brisbane, Canterbury, Newcastle, Parramatta and Penrith

A sixth team of Barbarians will consist of former greats from remaining clubs to round out the nine-a-side event

Squads will be split into two pools with the top two sides in each advancing into the semi-finals

Canterbury have been placed alongside Brisbane and the Barbarians with their first match kicking off at 2pm

Fans can also grab a photo and an autograph from their favourite Bulldog player at the fan zone between 1pm and 1.30pm

The opening match of the day features Brisbane and the Barbarians at 1pm before the Grand Final kicks off at 5.30pm

To purchase tickets visit Ticketmaster online, phone 136 100 or visit the Ticketmaster box office at McDonald Jones Stadium (located at the Western grandstand ticket box).

Luke Patten has still got it. Throw a jersey on him and put him on the wing, he'd still outpace Montoya, Hoppa and Holland.

I had slight movement in the underpants region when I saw Bryce Gibbs in the Barbarian’s team and Mark O’Meley in our team.

I'm annoyed Pritchard isn't playing for us, Eastwood kinda should play for us to lol. Heaps of other side's trying to call in whoever they can to try and beat us.
