You've been watching his team for nearly two years now surely you have some idea? Bellamy for example is renowned for what he can get out of journeymen players.
The odd journeyman surround by superstars smiths, slaters, Munsters, cronks, Inglis, Bromwich , etc etc etc
I don’t ever think Bellamy since he came in 04 has had as bad of roster
Plus never had “salary restraints” for years like we’ve had
Let’s not forget he assemble those players illegally and would not of kept half of them if stuck to the rules like were doing now
Coaches wanted Inglis, slaters etc, but storm signed n kept the illegally hindering other coaches potential to have those stars elsewhere

And now good young juniors go there to play with superstars in which he wouldn’t of had without cheating the cap

Actually Bellamy was doing it before any of those you mention when he took the baby broncos to that win in 2002 over the tigers. Even then people new he had something special about him.

The Broncos travelled to inhospitable Campelltown Stadium 13 years ago minus nine State of Origin representatives and without coach Wayne Bennett, who was the Queensland coach.

No one gave the young Broncos _ the most inexperienced line-up the club had ever fielded with two 17-year-olds, two 18-year-olds and two 19-year-olds in the side _ any hope of beating Terry Lamb’s Tigers. No one, that is, except acting coach Bellamy.

Seven players _ Nick Parfitt, Steve Irwin, Scott Minto, Robert Tanielu, Nathan Friend, Kris Kahler and Steve Lacaze _ debuted for Brisbane that night.
“He pulled apart the Wests Tigers’ game for us and showed us areas we could exploit.

“For example, he showed us that Tigers winger Hassan Saleh had a habit of moving close to scrums and showed us that he did it every time.

“He told us not to be afraid to attack down that side from scrums and to kick in behind Saleh if we wanted to.

“By the end of the week we were pretty confident we could win, even if no one else gave us a chance.”
Shane Walker gave most of the credit for the upset win to Bellamy.

“Craig gave us a lot of confidence from early in the week before the game,” Walker recalled this week.

Lol he sat in the box wh8le Wayne was origin duties
That team was coached by Wayne Bennett all year
He put the coaches hat on for the night lolol
That’s the worst example you could of come up with
Bennett coached the broncos for what 13 years plus all 22 rounds that year, and was away for origin and you credit that to Bellamy lolol

So if I put the coaches hat on for 1 night the storm beat someone I must be an superb coach in your theory
All the structures the same an$ everything
Bennett coached team all year they could of put a witches hat in the box for one night and the team would still run the same as previous 22 rounds
Omg well done [emoji106]

Lolololololololo

And this has what to do with our roster and how poor it is

Hardly the same team.

Been a few changes from last year. Morris Bros, Eastwood & Klemmer to name a few.

4 internationals lost and replaced with rookies.
Yes, roster is worse than last year but still notched similar wins
Wonder what these guys put it down too

Even Vautin got Qld up for a couple of games.

And we have seen the record Meninga & Fittler have at club level.

Bellamy had the Baby Broncos for 3 games? That is a short sprint.

Full time coaching is a marathon. Your example really is irrelevant.

If you want to be dick then i'm not going to bother. I posted that because it showed even under bad circumstances Bellamys ability to coach was still there for all to see.

The current roster is basically full of journeyman footballers. There are a few exceptions
and they hold the team together.
The test I always use is this. How many of the current roster would be snapped up by opposing teams?
Even the Titans would be hesitant in taking some of our players.
However, the failure to win games it always gives some people the chance of putting the boot into the coach.

Quite well.

But the Baby Broncos example you used was poor.

They were coached by Bennett. All Bellamy did that year was follow Bennetts instructions.

There would have been almost zero Bellamy input into that team.

He presented Bennets game plan to the team.

Bennett pulled apart the Tigers game plan, Belamy just read the script to the team.

Lets say that's exactly what happened, he still did a great job of it to get the win with a very inexperienced side that no one gave a chance.

What I want to know is how can you bring the madness or dominance in attack when you cant get the team fit in an off season. The talk was all positive form the coach and team. People saying Bellemy couldnt do any better with our squad. Give the team to Bellemy and Co. for an off season and Id bet my left nut they'd be fit come round 1. Tell me that would have zero impact on the outcome on games for us this season.

Absolutely we've put in some gutsy performances, especially in the last month or so. Checking the ladder though we are still running 15th out of 16 teams.

Ya get that with an inexperienced and inferior roster
