They probably will find one but as @BELMORE says it will probably be some local fly by night company like NTG in 2001.

Look at the position the club was in when KIA signed on we had been competing in September regularly, big crowds and massive ratings on primetime free to air.

We have lost much of that bargaining power.
Probably. But as long as they pay near market value until the right long term sponsor and partner comes along then it shouldn't matter too much in the short term..

Either way, this will another test for the board so it will interesting to see how they handle it.

This is pretty fucking shit, to lose such a big sponsor to another club is massive. People bitch about the colour or whatever but the Kia brand carries a lot of weight and opportunities.
but damn, I was hoping it said #pay gone not Kia..

In spite of them being a huge company, how did it benefit the club? It's not like we have marquee players and TPAs because of connection with KIA. And we don't all of a sudden have a huge fanbase in South Korea as a result...

It's a loss losing a sponsor but as long as someone else comes in and foots the bill, then it won't change too much.

The bigger concern is the lack of TPAs lined up by the club to top up offers to players which leaves us way behind when trying to compete with the big boys.

Big loss. With the way the team is going we may get less fta coverage next year too.

Remember about 10 years ago when we could not get any major sponsor and had to have camp quality?

Its a huge global brand company that we should have been able to build a long term relationship with and they have jumped ship to another club.

No major sponsor can give the club a TPA anyway so that is a moot point.

This mate. People here a quick to forget that this is the same board who secured full kit sponsorship worth $4.2million AFTER mad Monday bs. Almost $2million more then some other clubs.

Aligning ourselves with local companies that will have kickbacks for players and their families is not the worst thing to happen to our club just because your mates who support rival teams dont recognise the sponsor.

.
Not really a moot point if the sponsor has connections and influence with other companies that can be persuaded to front up tpa's though is it?

I don't think people realise how hard it is to get these sponsors! There are people here acting like we can just go out and choose who we want.

There's no way we get a replacement paying the same amount KIA were and who knows they could have a even worse logo then KIA on the jersey.
Our club is way to marketable, finding a sponsor won’t be hard. If we were a team like the titans, totally different story.

I never liked the name KIA.
To be KIA stands for "Killed In Action" in military terms.

KIA is a global brand and have something in everything, having a long-term relationship with them could've opened so many doors for us down the line. Just off the top of my head didn't our players attend The Aus Open due to Kia sponsoring the event? There's plenty of other things that could've happened behind the scenes...or maybe this board failed to use this partnership to the fullest and it's why Kia are happy to walk.

Umm have you seen who the Roosters have on their board? We hardly boast the same calibre of people that can open the same opportunities for the club.
I used to be a supervisor for Steggles parent company Baiada the Roosters will be taking full advantage of having a local based sponsor full of shonky operators that you can trust *wink wink*

It's more then likely that they have to settle for Steggles because its hard to come by a sponsorship form a major globally respected brand..........
For salary cap purposes I think its more beneficial to have locally owned sponsors you can trust then to place a pure monetary value it

Fair enough. I just think this is a heavy knock for the club, we don't have the big hitters on board that the Rooster have. Also hurts seeing a sponsor go to a rival club.

If they have jumped ship to the Broncos it's pretty clear that they want more exposure then we can give them.
