Probably not going to be a popular thread but I would seriously consider cut and running on him and using that money to buy an outside back or dare I say a specialist hooker that can pass, run and kick!

RFM hasn’t progressed if anything has regressed and to be honest on the whole I have been disappointed with his output taking into account his boundless potential which hasn’t been truly realised under Des or Pay.

He’s had ample opportunities to stake a claim both last season before injury and this season but has not grabbed it with two hands

CHN did last night what I have been waiting for RFM to do since he arrived here!

He’s a trade that most clubs would go for so maybe a straight swap to strengthen our areas of weakness?

Backrow is covered with JJ, CHN, Martin and Elliott and C Smith

Sorry uce time to go.....

Jackson was superb playing at lock. Jackson best position by a country mile is lock and he was great there when he was playing Origin

They need to lock Martin up for 2-3 years before they release RFM.

He will come good. I have faith in this bloke. His got the goods. Just down on form and confidence at the minute. Everyone has these periods in their career. Too good to let go imo

He’s still contracted until the end of next year and I’m not sure if there would be enough interest for a team to pick him up with out paying some freight.

A lot hinges on what happens to Martin if he signs long term then RFM could be the odd man out. RFM’s injury record is getting rather concerning now. I’d probably hang on to him until his contract is out.

I’m a fan of his but patience wearing thin and if there’s an option to trade him for someone that can shore up outside backs then we need to consider it

Especially when he still has value

I don't mind RFM at times. But to an extent I think he tries his cut back and run round the opposition too much. It doesn't contribute much. He's got an offload in him, but if he tries this tactic before offloading it usually means the defence slides wide with him cutting off the space for anyone he offloads to.

If he runs hard at the line it doesn't disrupt the attacking structure. He could come good. Just needs to get it in his head that he should be trying to go through rather than around the defence. We are stacked in the second row. So if a decent option to trade him out came up i wouldn't be too upset if he was moved on to strengthen our outside backs.

In a perfect world RFM and CHN edge each but Martin is solid and goal kicking invaluable

RFM hasn’t fired a shot since ironically the Cowboys game last season

The most worrying part about RFM is the amount of long term injuries he is copping

He mention offloads which is best asset

In two games this years he thrown 2 offloads not counting the try assist for Parra

i still think he is a good player and also think he was a bit of a scape goat of the early games.. injuries are a concern though..

I wouldn't be fussed if he left. I'm pretty content to have Elliot as our only bench backrower once we fix the rest of the bench

Was just sitting here having a cuppa thinking about this topic and i turn the computer on and there it is lol
Was gonna ask everyone was martin playing himself into a permanent stay ?
If so who will go. And to me rfm defence for me has never been up to scratch. He needs to play an adam blair style prop roll when blair was at the broncos.
Martin is a smarter foot baller he has proven that.

He looks like an edge runner but he needs to straighten his runs. The tries that CHN scored last night are the type of runs that RFM needs to get back to

Our bench would look more intimidating with RFM.

He is big and quick so he also needs to do his share of grunt straight and hard up the middle, particularly after a fast play the ball.

I’d rather keep Martin as he’s a proper footy player. RFM doesn’t interest me anymore so don’t care if he gets cut as he hasn’t shown anything in first grade, only glimpses.
