I hate Burgess and overall he's a dirty player but I thought at the time a penalty was sufficient.

Sounds fans are blowing up big time on social media

Penalty and dangerous everyday of the week. Elbow to the throat like that can do major damage including killing someone. It was South's so nothing further to see....probably ring that gay bell next game!

That's a fucking stupid thing to say grow the fuck up
Not at all, there was nothing in it. He used his forearm like every other prop does multiple times a game and Jmoz was just in the wrong position. It's not like he put it abpve his head and lead with the elbow. Nobody gave a shit when Taumalolo almost killed Yeo leading with the shoulder.

Yeah right, considering the Burgess boys are practically boy scouts with clean sheets.
The bloke should have book thrown at him.
While we are at it, get rid of that Inglis bloke as well. Dont like him either.
You know what, kick out the rabbits again. They have done absolutely nothing for this game.

Burgess is a dirty player, if he got away with that incident there's nothing that would stop him from continuing to stab people in the throat..

BWAHAHAHAHHAH SUCK SHIT SAM!!!

Tried to fight the charge, found guilty and had ban doubled!!!

South Sydney star Sam Burgess has been rubbed out of the Rabbitohs' next two marquee fixtures after being found guilty of elbowing Canterbury's Josh Morris in a tense Good Friday clash.

Burgess will miss Friday's showdown with traditional rivals St. George Illawarra at Kogarah Oval and next week's local derby against the Roosters.

The English front-rower unsuccessfully argued that his contact with Morris's throat was as a result of him having to "brace into contact" in a split second as the Bulldogs defender loomed from close range as he ran the ball off his own line.

Key to the not guilty ruling was the contention as to whether Burgess had raised his ball-carrying forearm at the point of contact with Morris's neck, with his counsel James McLeod stressing that the only movement made by Burgess was a "natural motion".

NRL prosecutor Peter McGrath countered with the suggestion that Burgess had shirked the duty of care that all ball players have to avoid such dangerous contact.

After a 50-minute hearing where the incident was analysed from several angles, the judiciary panel of Mal Cochrane, Tony Puletua and Dallas Johnson found Burgess guilty of careless and dangerous play after 10 minutes of deliberation, upholding the match review panel's original charge.

But for carry-over points stemming from a previous charge, Burgess would have been free to play with an early guilty plea, however the panel's findings will now rub him out for the next fortnight.

Great news. Serve him right for trying to be a smart ass. Souths have no duty of care for the greater part so why should Burgess? Three tough and hard ex- players on the panel ( all forwards); found guilty by his peers. Watch the whinging and whining of Siebold now. Only two Burgess boys so only twice as many errors for the team....

Will make it interesting next time we meet; Sam should have stuck to his original plan of targeting Klemmer or Woods......
