How embarrassing.. HAHAHA.

I wonder what the NRL stance is on this? Could the player accept the money?

Wow, maybe we actually can sign Cronk.

Alright lads, lets start a crowd funded third party deal to bring him to Bankstown!

We arent the Roosters so the NRL would make it count towards our cap

Lol.....
Food for thought. If those who pledge money are not current sponsors of the club and are in no way associated to one and the person who actually started it all did so of their own accord without prompting of the club or the club approaching them one would think that it would be a third party deal and okay..Isn't that the way it is supposed to work?

Uncle Nick's already called a board meeting at the roosters. Someone's just given him a new idea about "third party" sponsors.

I am sure that he must have already thought of this unique idea........so maybe they are not a goer.

I would contribute to the Cronk appeal but only if Des goes, otherwise it would be a waste of money.

You'd have to declare the "gift" to the ATO and they'd tax it. But sure, what's left would be yours.
I don't think the NRL could do anything about it either, as it wasn't arranged by the club. It's basically a 3rd party deal.

The answer is NO! When the Raiders were going to lose Ricky Stuart & Bradley Clyde to us the fans started something similar which was very quickly knocked on the head by the ARL at the time.
