i just read a similar report re Perrett and availability on Sundays but the club rejected.

Hope there's no truth to that.

It's true club rejected it because Hoppa had it in his contract and Perrett doesn't. This is only going to happen more and more because of the Hoppa precedent....

Sounds like shit to me, why would a guy who has NEVER won a Premiership and has made it clear thats what he wants, then want a Sunday clause in his contract knowing he has little time left to actually win one? Maybe true but sounds a little suss to me.

I wanted to sit out Sundays too, says Canterbury Bulldogs fullback Sam Perrett

Stand-in Canterbury fullback Sam Perrett says he wanted to join Will Hopoate in sitting out Sunday NRL matches in accordance with his religious faith but was denied the request by Bulldogs coach Des Hasler.

Hopoate will miss the Bulldogs' round 10 match against Wests Tigers on Sunday as he observes the Christian Sabbath.

Perrett revealed on Tuesday he wanted to join Hopoate on the sidelines but will play against the Tigers after Hasler turned him down.
