Wally Lewis is the greatest Origin player of all-time and I hate QLD. He had great defense and could always read the play a few tackles before it happened. Shits all over any other 5/8 I've ever seen. Now that I think about it I can't say Lockyer over Lewis as I've never seen Lewis play soz about that

Thing is he is fitter/better athlete and was/is at the top of modern era. Sure you could name some halfbacks from 30 years ago but they will never be in the same physical or skill ranking as Cronk, he had 100-130kg 2 meter tall tanks playing against him while 30 years ago before Wayne Pearce started the whole fitness thing most players were small and hairy lolI hope you boys don't actually think Cooper Cronk is the best halfback because I can name at least 7 or 8 better than him from the past 30 years.
Andrew Johns retired in 2007 and they played against each other and Johns shits all over him. Cronk isn't even in the same league as Thurston. Langer, Stuart, Alexander, Stacey Jones, Steve Mortimer, Peter Sterling and at club level DCE are all better than Cronk.Thing is he is fitter/better athlete and was/is at the top of modern era. Not saying he is better than all of the listed but he is in my eyes far better then the pre 2000 halves as they wouldn't last in today's game. Cronk had been a very darn good dominating player in the last few years and deserves his credit. I know he isn't as creative but his robot like execution and precision time after time is crazy good in my eyes.Andrew Johns retired in 2007 and they played against each other and Johns shits all over him. I can't stand that guy's voice lol, players from the 80s, 70s and extent the 90s don't even look like athletes just dads who didn't shave. Skill during their period might of helped but they aren't like the athletes of today who code hop and play other sports with decent skill due to it.They would survive easily and they would thrive. Greg Alexander was 2kg lighter than JT and 4kg lighter than Cronk but was much faster and better skilled than CC.
