Adam Reynolds' future at South Sydney is clouded after the club signed reigning Queensland Cup player of the year Cody Walker.
Reynolds is contracted until the end of 2015 but it is understood the Rabbitohs wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted an early release. The local junior burst onto the scene in 2012 as a replacement for Chris Sandow and has been a constant fixture in first grade ever since.
However, youngster Luke Keary was slated as a long-term halves option before suffering a season-ending injury. There will be more competition for spots next year when Melbourne recruit Walker joins Keary, Dylan Walker and John Sutton as contenders for the No.6 and No.7 jerseys.
The Bunnies tried to get Walker on a mid-season transfer but the Storm blocked the move, with the move not happening until the end of the season. Walker is considered a star in the making and would have already made his NRL debut if not for an ill-timed hamstring injury.
The pivot was the leading point scorer in the Intrust Super Cup last year despite missing the opening nine games through injury.
While you can expect denials from Souths, there are doubts within the club about whether Reynolds is the man to lead them to a grand final after falling just short in recent years. It wouldn't surprise to see a club like Canberra target him if he became a free agent early.

Would be a good signing for the Raiders.

Not really in the poo poo... just they don't rate him compared to Keary or Walker.

Canberra have Cornish coming up.

Has skills but lacks consistency. Not surprised if Souths want to offload him. Not earning his dollars.

He's a really good player... but we've never seen him behind a weak forward pack before.

I think playing behind a Souths forward pack and around players like Inglis, Luke and Sutton would make it pretty easy to be a halfback.

There are a few clubs that would happily snap him up.

With a bit of mental coaching to handle tough situations he certainly has some skill/ potential.

Would be a nice backup signing but he knows he is first grade material

Would have thought to shift Sutton back to Lock considering Burgess and Te'o are moving on, and leaving Walker at centre where he is dangerous.

Having Keary/Cody as the 6 would give them a fair few attacking options all over the park.

He is definitely not a back up guy (like Mortimer). He was considered SOO material last year.....

When I read the title I thought he was hanging out with Nate Myles!

Well the way he has been playing plus if he is asking for big money he might end up one.

There a weird team. Whenever they are chasing under pressure they just seem to fall apart. Nothing has changed in decades!

First things first, Sutton isn't a half. Reynolds is massively over-rated. He has one of the best forward packs in the game and, when it matters most, goes MIA. Go back to the past 2 Finals series and look what he has done. Actually, same goes for Inglis.
