Did not watch the Storm and Roosters but noted this in the match report.

http://www.nrl.com/storm-beat-roosters-at-death/tabid/10874/newsid/110978/default.aspx

The Storm extended their lead 12-6 after the break as Smith kicked the side’s third penalty goal in the 53rd minute.

The momentum suddenly turned after a bizarre act where Vunivalu tried to jump over the opposition while bringing the ball back from a kick and conceded a penalty for the dangerous act.

The visitors capitalized on the opportunity with Mitchell Aubusson finishing a right shift of the ball to score in the corner and level the scores 12-all with 20 minutes remaining.

With time winding down, an unexplainable spilled catch by Billy Slater gave the Roosters a golden opportunity to take the lead as Keary nailed the one-pointer but after returning from a concussion test, Stimson proved to be the hero with the clinching try in a scintillating performance.

I remember quite clearly that Vunivalu did exactly the same thing in a game either earlier this year or last year, where he fielded a ball and actually threw himself into the air and over a player injuring that player in the process. Pretty sure that on that occasion he was not penalised, in fact incident was brushed.

Were the penalties to the Storm warranted? Was the penalty try warranted? Dids referee Smith have another blinder or did his assistant Sutton stuff up??
Regarding the storm penalties, The Rorters were doing in this match what they have been allowed to do for 4 years. Professional fouls and giving away constant blatant penalties to stifle the opposition attack, to give them time to set their line and break the attacking teams momentum . They've been getting away with this tactic for too long.
Whilst the penalty try may have been harsh , Im glad it happened to them. He should have sent him in the bin also.

It was definitely a sin bin offence but no way a penalty try.

Ironic that it was against another team that has set the bar high with its, shall we say, not quite legal or ethical tactics.

Yeah I agree, but I'm glad it happened to them.

Panthers are the LUCKIEST team the NRL has ever seen...My goodness, how much luck goes there way?

now Des, this is what you call a gutsy effort from cowboys,

without the best player in the world

without their best forward

with injured players leaving the game unfinished and that too in key position.

yet hung on till the last minute.

Its amazing...how much luck is involved?

For the past 2+ years, the Cows were extremely lucky with injuries....extremely lucky, week after week they fielded the very same team.

Now all of a sudden it is all coming back to hit them hard. Absurd injury toll.

Only saw it on highlights but it looked like it should be a penalty try if the NRL want to get rid of the blatant blocking crap. But to be consistent with all other calls this year, it shouldn't have been given

Fox are about to report regarding a threat by Jarryd Hayne to leave the Tits regarding a fall out with Neil Henry. In the Telecrap.
Big headed tool who thinks that he is bigger than the game. Has probably had no more than two or three good games for the Tits.Rack off back to whatever new dream you want to follow.

FMD> Listen to Alexander when speaking to Campbell Gillard about the game and the victory by Penrith.
WE were, we did well....should he not at least show some degree of non bias. He is there to commentate not push the barrow for the Pampers..heaven's knows we get enough of that from Gould on Channel Nein.

There is no way they could with 100% certainty say he was going to score that try, it was a wet and slippery night and there was still too much for him to do to score it. That's not a penalty try. Professional foul and sin bin for sure though.

Tigers are done. Game over before half time. They matched it for the first 20mins but they capitulated after that.
