News NRL contract news: Bulldogs star Jake Averillo reveals how Wayne Bennett lured him to Dolphins

    Opinion Skelton

Then you need to watch footy more. Wilson is a gun. And Skelton is just surplus to our needs. I suspect he may get the odd game at the Roosters but most of the time will play NSW Cup
  14. Dogs Of War

    Have to beat the Raiders

Problem is that we play the same way as Panthers. And Parra seem to be able to beat Panthers during the season. Might be Parra's very attacking structure. That said, I feel we can score more points than the Panthers when required.
  15. Dogs Of War

    Hutchinson is a momentum killer

They need to earn the spot. I'm sure Hutch will get injured at some point, and then whomever comes into the team will really need to step up an have a blinder so there is no other choice who should be halfback. But at the moment I think Hutch does a very team first approach to playing.

Where are the Hutch haters now. Straightened it up. Got us a try.- I do feel Sexton would be better. But coach knows best.
  21. Dogs Of War

    Hutchinson is a momentum killer

It's honeslty guys giving too much early ball letting the defense slide today. Hutch tried to straighten the attack, he just isn't good enough to do it anymore to trouble the defence. Mind knows the right option, body can't do it anymore.
  22. Dogs Of War

    Opinion Blake Taffee

It's not like Sexton can't be vocal. But there are varying strengths to how confident you are and how you hold yourself in that role. Something that usually experience brings. 23. Dogs Of War

    Opinion Blake Taffee

Really comes down to how he talks on the field. Or can Burton stand up in that role. It's one of the biggest things Hutch brings to the team.

News Jackson Topine takes Bulldogs to court

Topine did this at the start of the session, then completed the whole session afterwards. So I feel he is grasping at straws. Mentally it's hard to be a fringe player who is fighting for his career. I feel that has something to do with it all.

Be nice to throw a bone to Schuster for the rest of this season and a bit for next given how much Manly are paying him out. This season can be about getting him fit, and see if he has it next year. If it turns good this year, could be a great addition off the bench for the club.

News Dogs Stick With Hutchinson Despite Mounting Pressure

Maybe the option is to bring Sexton in with Hutch for a few games. Drop Burton to reserves to work out his 5/8th role and ensure he is running the ball as the first option. Burton can run the ball. He just needs to get back to doing that as his first option.

Nice to get a win, and some players stepped up. But others like Burton seem to go away from running the ball like he did last week. Our Forward Pack

You can see when team play through the middle we tire towards the end of games. Titans for some reason decided rather than go through us they would go around us. It was a silly game plan. Our backline is better than the Titans one. There forward pack on the other hand.

    Kurt Mann to half/5/8

Let Sexton show us in reserve grade. He needs to dominate that level. We ain't winning the comp this year, it's all about building the team up. You just need to start winning and playing the right way. Ref's on those 50/50's generally go with the better team. With the effort I've seen I can see us turn a corner, but the draw is pretty hard after the Titans game then 3 after we really need to cause some upsets. Gutsy losses won't be...

    Team Selection Chat

We just need the halves playing to there strengths. Burton just needs to run first. Whomever plays halfback needs to control the team 90% of the time. This then puts Burton further out so he can run onto the ball more. See look at last years top 4 teams. All have a half controlling the team...

News The heat is on’: Ciraldo’s bold optimism questioned as Bulldogs’ ‘big kill’ theory emerges

Yep. Salary cap went up at the wrong time for us. Everybody needs middles, and we would really have to overpay like Souths did for Asotasi to get one that will take that mantle to lead the way and change that forward culture.

I think most people didn’t pay attention to what he said. He wants Burton to shift for a few games so he can just concentrate on running. Then go back to 5/8th with running as his first instinct. That’s what a good 5/8th does. I feel his stint as half back was the worst for him.
